This handwoven wool rug features the stylized images of the Egyptian Eagle and a Gazelle - graceful animal once endangered in Georgia and now protected in Vashlovani National Park. Once nearly disappeared from the region, the gazelle’s return is a story of resilience, care, and the connection between people and nature. Woven from naturally dyed Georgian wool, this piece honors that story and the landscape that inspired it.
The ornament used in this rug was taken from an exhibit kept in the Telavi History Museum.
